Cigarrillos y Dolor…

he vuelto a fumar…ultimamente me pongo de los nervios, trato de estar bien siempre, pero no es más que una máscara… tengo que reconocerlo, tengo buen humor, pero muchas veces me trafficking al simple y otras me cuesta…cuando estoy en el trabajo, y salgo a tomar el aire un rato, baja una compañera y enciende un cigarro… no soy adicta ni me compro cigarrillos, pero si me invitan uno lo acepto…nunca le he visto la gracia al cigarro, ahora igual me da un poco de tranquilidad. no hago ni uno al día… pero a la semana me habré fumado uno, quizá dos… y a veces pienso y si me fumo uno… creo que me ayuda a pasar el tiempo y me quita la ansiedad…puedo decir que me gusta, por el momento…esto me viene ocurriendo desde hace poco tiempo y la verdad es que me preocupa.es el strees del trabajo? es mi obsesión por bajar de peso? es mi tristeza enmascarada?no lo sé… y eso es lo peor de todo…trato de no pensar, trato de caminar, de ir por allí viendo, mirando tiendas, gente pasar, trabajo mucho y me aislo para no pensar cosas tristes. pero me gana cuando estoy sola…hacía bastante tiempo que no me atrapaba esta oscuridad, porque siempre trato de ver la vida con optimismo, con fuerza y valentía, pero todos tenemos altibajos, todos caemos pero lo bueno es que nos volvemos a levantar… con más fuerza, entereza, valor y más amor que nunca.

Mr. Yang Goes To Washington…To Try to Parry Microsoft Attack on Yahoo-Google Deal

jerry yang rushed to capitol hill yesterday to stoical legislators who are no doubt being force-fed horror stories at hand the yahoo-google (goog) search deal. who is powerful legislators these petrifying tales? do you at bottom would rather to ask?

WSJ: On Wednesday, Rep. Joe Barton (R., Texas), the ranking Republican on the House Energy and Commerce Committee, sent a letter to the Yahoo CEO expressing his concerns. Rep. Barton asked Mr. Yang to explain how the collaboration won’t “have an anticompetitive impact on the online-search market, including the pricing of online-search advertising.”

Mr. Yang didn’t meet with Rep. Barton Wednesday, though Rep. Barton’s staff said the two are looking to meet soon. Mr. Yang did meet with Sen. Herb Kohl (D., Wis.), who raised questions about the Yahoo-Google pact soon after it was unveiled. In addition to Sen. Kohl, Mr. Yang met with Senate Majority Whip Richard Durbin (D., Ill.), and Rep. Edward Markey (D., Mass), chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee’s Telecommunications and Internet Subcommittee…

In his letter to Mr. Yang, Rep. Barton also posed several specific questions about how the venture came about and how search data would be used and stored. Rep. Barton asked Yahoo to identify the data it would provide Google about searches conducted on its Web site. In a statement, Yahoo said, “We structured the agreement with Google so that Yahoo won’t transfer any personally identifiable information to Google without user consent.”

Yahoo and Google are reportedly trying to blunt concerns by claiming that “search” is not a distinct market but just one blurry element of a broader “online advertising” market–and that the Yahoo-Google deal therefore won’t lead to a dominant market share.

This position is ludicrous, of course. Search is a very distinct market, and one player–Google–already has overwhelming share.

That said, we continue to believe that there is no basis other than politics for regulators to block this deal. The market is already a natural monopoly, and it makes sense for Yahoo (and even Microsoft) to take advantage of Google’s superior scale.

Quincy man wins $100,000 a year for life

A 63-year-old Wollaston man should be set for life after winning $100,000 a year on a Set for Life scratch ticket. Kenneth Grippi of Summit Avenue collected his first check on May 23 at Lottery headquarters in Braintree.

He bought the winning ticket at Franklin Street Getty in Quincy. The store will receive a $20,000 commission on the sale.

Set for Life, a $10 instant game, offers 25 prizes of $100,000 a year for life and 66 prizes of $1 million.
